Notes on design and installation

The preload v is a feature of the MarMotion rotary stroke bearing, that decisively influences its properties. The loading capacity, smooth movement and, if the recommended values are exceeded, the service life depend on the preload.

The following instructions must be observed during installation:

  • The rotary stroke bearing should be loaded by radial forces rather than moments to avoid local overloading of the balls.
  • In case of higher moments design two separate ball zones with a distance between.
  • If possible, place the force application point close to the guide (see loading capacity under radial load).
  • Avoid impact loads. Even on hardened running surfaces, impacts can cause ball impressions.
